Please note these instructions are only for EasyWorship 2007 and 2009. This process will not work for versions older than 2007. If you have an older version of EasyWorship, upgrade to EasyWorship 2007 or 2009 then follow the instructions below.

Simple General Instructions

Here are written step by step instructions for Backing up your database from an old computer, and then Restoring it to a new computer.  Follow the steps to backup depending on the version of windows you're running on the old computer and follow the steps to restore depending on the version of windows you're running on the new computer.  If you aren't sure what version of windows you have, click on the windows Start button () and click on Run or click in the Search box and type in winver and press enter.


Backup the EasyWorship 2007 or 2009 Database (old computer: Win Vista, 7 or 8)

  1. Connect your backup drive to the computer.
  2. Open EasyWorship 2007/2009 on the old computer.
  3. Click on the Profiles menu, then Profile Manager.
  4. Highlight the profile you wish to back up and click 'Edit the selected application profile' at the bottom.

  5. Click in the field under 'Use an existing application data instance', and use the right arrow key on your keyboard to move the cursor to the end of the field.
  6. Write down the path shown there including the name of the folder at the end of that path. (The typical location is C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Softouch\EasyWorship\Default)
  7. Close the Profile Manager and close EasyWorship.
  8. Open the Windows File Explorer (+E), or click on the Windows start button, then 'Computer'.

  9. Browse to the location in the path you wrote down in step 5.

    The typical location is C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Softouch\EasyWorship\Default

  10. Select all (Ctrl+A) folders in that window. (Should be Databases, Options, Resources)
  11. Right click on any of the selected folders. Choose 'Send to' from the pop-out menu and select the backup drive you connected in step 1.
  12. When the folders are all transferred, disconnect the drive from the computer.


Restore the EasyWorship 2007 or 2009 Database (new computer: Win Vista, 7 or 8)

  1. Connect your backup drive to the computer. (This will be the same backup drive you used on the 'old computer' from the Backup steps above.)
  2. Close all other programs and windows before starting.
  3. Open the Windows File Explorer (Windows.jpg+E), or click on the Windows start button, then 'Computer' and browse to your backup drive.
  4. Highlight all folders you backed up from 'old computer' (should be Databases,Options,Resources) then press Ctrl+C on your keyboard OR right click on any one and click Copy.
  5. In the Windows File Explorer, browse to C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Softouch\EasyWorship\Default
  6. Rename all folders in that window by adding 'old' after the folder name (Resourcesold, Optionsold, Databasesold)
  7. Click in a blank area in that same window and press Ctrl+V on your keyboard OR right click in a blank area and click Paste.
  8. When the folders are all transferred, open EasyWorship and you should see your song database.

Backup the EasyWorship 2007 or 2009 Database (old computer: Win XP)

  1. Connect your backup drive to the computer.
  2. Open EasyWorship 2007/2009 on the old computer.
  3. Click on the Profiles menu, then Profile Manager.
  4. Highlight the profile you wish to back up and click 'Edit the selected application profile' at the bottom.
